History
In 2020, at the initiative of the Agate NGO, within the framework of the “Leading for Independent Living” project of the USAID, the “Agate” Independent Living Resource Center was founded which provides free services to people with disabilities of different age groups living in Shirak region, as well as their family members, organizations providing community services, state and local self-government bodies, and non-governmental organizations. The Independent Living Resource Center has provided 1249 services to around 480 people within two years since its establishment. Independent living centers are non-government, non-residential, non-profit organizations run by and for persons with disabilities. Independent living center services are tailored to each individual's needs and desires.
