The goal of the “Empower Her: Breaking Barriers, Ending Violence” subgrant project is to promote the elimination of
discrimination and violence against women with disabilities in Armenia through their empowerment and building capacities
of women’s rights organizations and support centers to provide quality and accessible services to women and girls with all
types of disabilities.
Target group of this project are women and girls with disabilities, support and healthcare providers, and social service
providers.
Activity 1.1 Organize a two-day empowerment workshop in Gyumri for 25 women and girls with disabilities from different
regions of Armenia, specifically tailored to educate women with disabilities gender based violence and discriminatory
practices they may encounter.
Activity 1.2 Offer 8 online webinars with different specialists from women’s organizations, support centers and disability-
rights organizations. Provide training on self-advocacy skills, assertive communication techniques, and strategies for setting
boundaries.
Activity 1.3 Facilitate and provide mentorship to 25 workshop participants of workshop who will provide peer support to 5
women with disabilities in their regions and communities (total peer support and mentorship for 125 women with
disabilities).
Activity 1.4 Write 6 human stories of GBV survivors with disabilities. Launch a public awareness campaign on social media
platforms to challenge stereotypes.
Activity 2.1 Organize a one-day training for 30 Service Providers from Yerevan and different regions of Armenia. Provide
training on disability awareness, communication techniques with women and girls with all types of disabilities, and inclusive
service delivery approaches.
Activity 2.2 Develop brochures for stakeholders and service providers to enhance their skills in providing sensitive and
inclusive services to women and girls with disabilities experiencing violence.
Project outcomes are:
1.Women and girls with disabilities are equipped to recognize, report, and seek support for instances of violence and
discriminatory practices.
2.Stakeholders are capacitated and sensitized to ensure sensitive and inclusive services to women and girls with disabilities
experiencing violence.

for Women with Disabilities NGO in the framework of “EQUAL – EU 4 Women Empowerment in Armenia” project,
implemented by OxYGen Foundation, European Partnership for Democracy NGO, Netherlands Helsinki Committee NGO,
Women’s Support Center NGO, WINNET Goris Development Foundation in cooperation with Winnet Sweden NGO. The
