Newly appointed governor of Shirak visited “Agate” NGO

Today, on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the newly appointed Governor of Shirak Region Nazeli Baghdasaryan visited “Agate” NGO, had a meeting with the organization’s staff members and beneficiaries. During the meeting the issues related to the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities were discussed, the ways of solution. An agreement was reached that further cooperation will be established and continue based on the protection and realization of the rights of persons with disabilities.

The meeting took place within the framework of the “Leading for Independent Living” project. The mission of the project is to empower people with disabilities in Armenia to live independently, advocate for their rights, and participate fully in their communities, and is implemented by three leading disability organizations: Mobility International USA (MIUSA), “Agate” Rights Defense Center for Women with Disabilities NGO and “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” NGO (EREO).
