On February 18, on the initiative of the Coalition for Inclusive Legal Reforms, a meeting took place with the RA Candidate for Presidency Vahagn Khachaturyan. During the meeting, the members of the Coalition presented the issues of persons with disabilities, and spoke up about possible ways of addressing them. Both sides highlighted the importance of full implementation of the provisions of the RA Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The Candidate for Presidency emphasized the importance of ensuring the participation of persons with disabilities in the development of accessibility mechanisms in Armenia, and affirmed that if elected, he was ready to support various initiatives aimed at ensuring accessibility within the authority that the country’s President is assigned.
Mushegh Hovsepyan, the Coalition coordinator mentioned that in case Vahagn Khachaturyan is elected President, the Coalition is ready to support the President’s Office in all activities aimed at inclusion and at improving life quality of persons with disabilities.
