“Agate” NGO participated in the online opening event of EREO Independent Living Resource Center online opening event

“The community is strong if the whole potential of persons with disabilities are used”, mentioned Karine Grigoryan, “Agate” NGO founder and president at the EREO Independent Living Resource Center online opening event.
“Agate” Independent Living Resource Center was established a year ago. The continuation of the “Agate” NGO successful experience became the foundation of one more independent living resource center within the framework of the “Leading for Independent Living” project this time in Vanadzor city by the “Equal Rights, Equal opportunities” NGO. The president of the organization thanked “Agate” NGO in person of Karine Grigoryan, NGO president for her support in establishment of an ILRC in Vanadzor.
“The project has great importance not only for our members, but also for our organizations and employees, because we stood on the path of working in accordance with the philosophy and values of independent living”, says Gayane Grigoryan, “Agate” NGO project officer in her speech.
“Agate” and EREO ILRCs were established within the framework of the “Leading for Independent Living” project. The mission of the project is to empower people with disabilities in Armenia to live independently, advocate for their rights, and participate fully in their communities, and is implemented by three leading disability organizations: Mobility International USA (MIUSA), “Agate” Rights Defense Center for Women with Disabilities NGO and “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” NGO (EREO).
